When Bradway Financial is the registered investment advisor on any of your accounts, our custodians provide us with the technology to make changes across all accounts to keep them in line with our current investment model. Our primary custodian is Fidelity, but we also have relationships with Schwab, TDAmeritrade and others.
This is very different from how we have had to handle your workplace retirement plans, such as 401k's and 403b's, as well as other accounts where there is no way for the custodian to know that we are the registered investment advisor. For these accounts, we have a power of attorney from you that allows us to login to your account and make the changes necessary to keep it in line with our current investment model. We've worked very hard to make these manual changes in a timely manner. As our business has grown, we've added resources to help us keep up.
Now, thanks to a new tool called 401k Pilot, we are able to manage your 401k, 403b and other outside accounts as effectively as your directly held accounts -- those on which we are the registered investment advisor. This new service will enable us to regularly rebalance your workplace retirement accounts and make real-time allocation changes when we modify our investment model. The tool allows us to make these changes to your accounts while considering the investment options available in your plan and any restrictions or costs associated with making account changes.
Regularly and systematically rebalancing retirement accounts can help improve long-term performance by locking in investment gains and maintaining the proper asset allocation. And often it's important to be able to quickly make allocation changes.
